Custom Steel Bars

1. Range of custom size diameters:

We have a large inventory of stainless steel bars for sale in diameters ranging from Ø1/4 in to – 7 in. The normal length of the stainless steel rods we supply is about 19-24 ft, however, we can cut a rod to any length up to 24 ft for you.

Standard sizes & custom cuts: Stock rods are 19-24 ft. and can be custom cut to any length. Tolerances: Our standard tolerance for custom cuts is +/- 1/16″. If you need a tighter tolerance, call us!

Volume discounts: Unit prices drop on most custom-cut products when you increase the quantities.

2. Double, triple chrome plating

When choosing a chrome plated bar it is important that you are aware of the most relevant specs of the offered material, for example strength, weldability, corrosion resistance, and surface hardness. Chromed rods may be CP (Chrome Plated), IHCP (induction hardened chrome plated), or HCP (Hard Chrome Plated). The differences identify the application.

Double Chrome Steel Rods are a cost-effective solution offering great durability, corrosion resistance, and a smooth surface suitable for many industrial and automotive applications. They are ideal when budget constraints are a consideration, and the environment is not overly harsh.

Triple Chrome Steel Rods provide superior durability, exceptional corrosion resistance, and an ultra-smooth finish, making them ideal for the most demanding applications, including those in harsh environments such as marine or aerospace settings. They are a more expensive option but offer the best performance and the longest lifespan.

3. Stainless steel option is available

Obtained through a chrome plating process over a stainless steel base material, this product not only satisfies certain oxidation resistance requirements, given by the used type of stainless steel, but also different mechanical demands. Granting higher corrosion resistance, generally used in automotive, food and pharmaceutical industries, the stainless steel grades with higher Nickel content provide an outstanding impact resistance even at lower temperatures (-20°C).

Corrosion Resistance Levels – Rating 9 After 1450 Hours Nss

4. Nickel Chrome plating

The nickel chrome plated bars are characterized by a layer of nickel which provides high resistance to corrosion. The nickel chromium is suitable for work in marine and mineral industries and all those hydraulic applications where exposure to corrosive agents is extended.

Nickel chrome plated rod guarantees a rating of 10 with 1500 hours of corrosion resistance in neutral salt spray (ISO 9227 NSS) and 500h corrosion in acetic acid salt spray (ISO 9227 AASS)

5. Custom rod machining

Custom machining is the best option if you have a completely new idea or invention or need your parts in nonstandard sizes.

With this process, setup times are very short so that quality components can be made very fast from 3D CAD models. It also rarely involves minimum order quantity.

6. Machined piston rods

  • Crosswise groove
  • Outside diameter thread
  • End for mount with clevis clamp
  • Tapped or drilled holes radially through shaft
  • Grooves for snap ring
  • Radial drilling holes, bored
  • Reduced diameter with/without feather keyway
  • Reduced diameter with threaded ends
  • Axial drilled and threaded ends
